Best Time of the Year!

Ohh, it really is the best time of the year. I love the holidays. LOVE them!

Fall time goodies around my house.

Small pumpkins!
Sweet towel.
Owls!
Oh, and my sweet new spice rack inspired by the great Brittany.

I also made some cranberry brandy for Thanksgiving! It is phenomenal.

Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite holiday - family, great food, love in the air. Especially this year...

My darling-dear Bear proposed!!! (I said yes!)

I love this man and am thankful for a life with him by my side.

Tonight we decorated the house for Christmas!

Tree! (We still need to get a topper! Whoops.)

Decorations!

Stockings hung with care.
Favorite ornament!
Sweet vintage mousie.
(Wink!)
Our tree is just a widdle guy!
Smelling good!
Vintage handmade...thing! I love it.
Hazel Atlas egg nog mugs.
Christmas tunes on vinyl...must-have!
And of course...holiday Pyrex!

Hope everyone else is enjoying this time of year - it truly is the sweetest!

Weddings & Pyrex

I had the pleasure of doing the photography this weekend for my wonderful friends wedding. It was in Boulder, CO - so I got to take a sweet roadtrip, too!

The bride, my darling friend Kila, knows of my obsession with Pyrex - so as a thank you, she gave me these gorgeous pink gooseberry cinderella bowls!

I also had a free day on Saturday and hung out with another darling friend, Linnea. We had a wonderful day exploring Ikea, eating delicious food, and speaking with British accents. She took me to a wonderful little flea market where I found this beauty!

I've wanted a hostess dish for a looooong time now...glad to finally get one!

I also found these three pieces a week or so ago (all at different thrift stores!) Only one more small fridgie to complete the set! ;)

Back to the wedding stuff! I met Kila when I moved to Boulder last summer. I was living on an aerobed on my brother's floor and got a job as a preschool teacher, where I was placed in a room co-teaching with Kila. We became great friends, and when my brother moved away and my aerobed had no floor to set on, they allowed me to move in their guest room. They gave me a home when I had none, and a family when I needed it the most. Kila & Aaron's wedding was breathtakingly beautiful, and I was honored to be a part of it. Congratulations, friends!

Oh, and their cake was the best cake I've ever had...ever. It was pumpkin, and tasted like a little bit of heaven.

The Zoo, Pyrex, & Goodwill's Stupidity

Last weekend my darling and I went to the Omaha Zoo & Aquarium. If you haven't been - you should change that. We spent an entire day there and had an absolute blast!

Here we are in Omaha, happy to be done driving:

Our first night in Omaha we ate at a little joint we saw featured on 'Diners, Drive-In's, & Dives' - Brewburgers. It wasn't very awesome, but we did try the alligator bites!

We did check out a huge antique mall! I didn't buy anything - everything I liked was super expensive...as usual. Bummer! Check out all this jadeite we saw, though!

We also checked out a great record store - Antiquarium Records. I got Tom Petty's 'Southern Accents' for $5!

The next morning, bright & early, we headed to the zoo! Bear's favorite part was the jungle-dome. It was pretty sweet!

I thoroughly enjoyed the aquarium.

Here are some of my favorite shots from our trip!

Jellyfish!

Sweet owl friend!

Bear being silly.

Tough tiger!

Now I have to tell you a slightly funny story. I've bought a few things from ShopGoodwill.com, and I check their Pyrex for sale once a week or so. Last week I noticed a pair of Spring Blossom salt & pepper shakers going for $5 - I've always wanted a set. It stated shipping was 2lbs, so I figured it couldn't be more than $5-7 additional. I bid $5, and won! I went to pay and noticed the shipping was **WAIT FOR IT** $19.50! WHAT?! $19.50 to ship something that weighs less than 2lbs?! No way. So...I didn't pay. Goodwill can suck it!

Anywayyyy...I had to stop for Starbucks on the drive back, and noticed a Goodwill across the street. Poor Bear saw the look in my eyes and said, "Just go." (He's so understanding, haha!) I scored these guys for $.99 each! HAHA GOODWILL. So now I am done with ShopGoodwill.com, but I'm in not against shopping in a real Goodwill. (Or...something like that.)

Happy Wednesday & stay thrifty!

New Bedroom!

I moved about two months ago, and have finally finished rearranging and decorating my bedroom. I'll give you a peek, because I know you have been soooo interested. ;)

Bookshelf; given to me from my momma, painted white. Filled with mainly Pyrex, the bottom shelf holds my books. (Horrible, right?)

Dresser; $30 thrift store find. I'm in love with the scalloped drawers.

Ottoman; $20 estate sale find. I actually just got this yesterday, not quite sure where it will end up in the room. I'm in love with the color, and the extra storage space!

Record player; $70 from Craigslist. It's not vintage, just a remake. I have horrible luck with vintage turntables...every time I buy one it breaks. I'm cursed! So I bought new(ish) - and yes, it IS pink. Swoon.

Owl tea-light holder; free from my momma (she's the best!)

Lamp; free at the curb. The inside lights up green. Yupp!

And this isn't really part of my room, just my new little keychain friend. Have any of you heard of KidRobot? The items come blind-box, which makes it kind of fun because you don't know which guy you'll get! The boy bought this one for me while wasting time in a bookstore before seeing The Dark Knight Rises (OHMYGOD I LOVE BATMAN) This is from the Yummy Breakfast line.

Oh, and I got some Pyrex this weekend! Just a little red fridgie (.50 with lid!) and #441 yellow bowl ($2). The Frank Sinatra album was only .50 and the Fossil bag was $5! Pretty great weekend if you ask me.

Saturday Thrifting!

Every other Saturday we have to go on a trip to the bank, which is about 30 miles away. (Silly, right? We really love our bank, but dammit, I wish it was closer!) This meanssss...thrift stores along the way. And, oh, was today great!

This guy has been at the top of my "want" list for awhile now. I literally squealed when I spotted it on the shelf which made the boy say, "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!"

Um, nothing is WRONG with me. Do you see how pretty it is!? (He didn't understand.)

#343, "Designs"

The next store we walked into, I spotted these guys...in someone else's cart. OH NO. I have the #401 (somewhere...I couldn't find it for the picture. Whoops!) and this was the rest of the set. I went whining to the boy and he said, "Wait, you want these bowls?" and picked them up off the top shelf. The lady had put them back! Good eye, boy, good eye!

#402, 403, & 404, "Homestead"

And this guy I have no idea about. It's a sweet blue-periwinkle color; perfect for summer! I'm sure it has a fun lid somewhere...does anyone know anything about it?

#475, Mystery?
