Thrifting Spree & Cupcakes

Hello all!

I had a morning off from work this week, so of course I went thrifting. :)

I found this lovely Lace Medallion promo and this Royal Wheat divided dish. $8 for both. I like their colors together!

I also bought these 2 little Terra bowls for $.50/each.

I got this shiny turquoise #404 for $5, but it's so much more my momma than I - so I gifted it to her. Her kitchen is decked out in everything turquoise.

She collects vintage Ball & Mason jars but I'm trying to convert her to Pyrex...

In the baking world...I've made so many cupcakes this week.

Rainbow velvet for a friend's son! (These were SO FUN to make!)

My bosses' daughter turned 7, and I made her chocolate/peanut butter cuppys with white chocolate piped butterflies.

I hope y'all are enjoying these beautiful fall evenings!

xoxo,

  1. Your cupcakes look fantastic! Love the rainbow :) I can't believe the prices of the Pyrex you are finding. Here in WA state the thrifts are getting very pricey. It's hard to find things under $5.

    1. I've noticed prices raising here quite a bit...I left so many pieces at the thrifts this week due to crazy prices! The best was a #441 Autumn Harvest (minty, but still) - $10! And on the shelf below I found the turquoise lace medallion for $4...uh, what!? (Goodwill for ya!)

  2. Great idea for cupcakes - I imagine kids love them. And very nice Pyrex finds at great prices too. Around here, I don't know what makes me cry more - the very abused Pyrex pieces I often see or the asking prices on many of those abused pieces ! Your finds look in very good shape.

    1. Thanks C! I'm becoming more and more picky about what I bring home - it's got to be in minty condition...or super hard to find. Haha!

  3. Madee, somehow I am super jealous of your lace medallion and royal wheat even though I have them both already ;) Probably because the medallion was an antique mall splurge for me--I was convinced I'd never find it in a thrift store and you proved me wrong! :) I love the colors together too; now I want to display them together!

    1. I was going to comment on your blog, Brittany! You inspired me to organize my spices...haha! I'll post about it once my project is done. ;) And I never expected to find the Lace Medallion at a thrift, either! A definite surprise! :)

  4. The wheat and medallion are gorgeous together! It makes me want to pick up some gold colored Pyrex... I'm surprised I don't have any what with the prevalence of butterfly gold round these parts!

    1. I know - I only own a few Butterfly Gold pieces, but they're so gorgeous paired with the turquoise!

    2. I gotta agree with that one! I hated Butterfly Gold, but once I saw people pairing it with Turquoise in photos, it wasn't so bad anymore, haha.

  5. 50 cents for Terra!? That's probably cheaper than when they were new!
