Retro Finds

Not only do I have a slight obsession with Pyrex, I'm also in love with retro/midcentury furniture. It's posed quite a problem...until I moved into my own house! Now I have all this rooooom for my retro finds.

Okay, so, it's not my own house - I live with 3 boys. But we've all agreed that the garage will not be for parking in - it's too much of a bother when you have so many people/cars. Instead of arguing about who gets to park inside, we've decided to make the garage another hang-out space (and since 3 of us smoke, a warm place to smoke in the winter!)

So that means...more furniture to feed my frenzy.

My dad called me yesterday when he spotted this guy at a local thrift store. Glorious! I had to have it.

$25 for this beauty - in excellent condition! And you know what I love most about vintage couches? They're so loooooong! Here's a closer look at the lovely print:

This chair I already had...two of them, actually. They came with the house my parents bought a few years ago, and it was love at first sight.

Who can resist that golden charm? They will be joining the couch in the retro lounge garage space.

This next find is a little off-topic, but I just had to share my love for it. I stopped at a garage sale before work today and found this vintage tablecloth for a quarter. I LOVE IT. Lime houndstooth paired with periwinkle fruits?! Yes and yes.

Hope everyone else is having a terrrrrific Thursday!

  1. I LOVE that yellow chair! And that couch for $25? I die.

Oh, and the Goodwill Outlet is pretty awesome. I haven't spotted any Pyrex dishes yet, but they have some decent furniture, awesome old books (I got a sweet recipe book and typewriting instruction book--adorable!), and cool electronics (I got a Super 8 camera once!) Glassware is .49/lb, & everything else except furniture & electronics is .79/lb. The furniture & electronics prices go down 50% every day that they're not sold, so you can get bookshelves for $0.25. Crazy!
